2020 Playoffs

 

Well, as unlikely as it seemed in the summer, here we are at the 2020 dynasty playoffs!  It's been a rocky road with delayed games and COVID designations, but six teams were able to battle their way to this year's endgame.  ACL and the bEARs were able to secure the byes, so week 14 will see Land O'Nutts facing off against the defending champs in The Futures, while Reek's Revenge takes on Doctor B.

Mid-Season Update - Week 7 2020

Well, I guess the first week I finally lose is a good a time as any to update this thing.  Sorry for the lack of posts this year, all!  As with all of us, 2020 kinda flipped my stuff upside down and I have not had nearly the same amount of time for fantasy stuff as usual.  But football came and happened anyway, so we still gotta enjoy it!

Week 16

Well, there it is.  Another year, another ACL-less finals.  Is it a curse?  Am I punished for fantasy crimes?  Is it karma for my (branded) arrogance?  Perhaps so.  Oh well..."there's always next year!"

Week 15

Both playoff matchups ended excruciatingly close!  The bEARs bid for a second 'ship fell short by 3pts, as the Munnies sacrificed Mike Evans to advance to round 2. Meanwhile the Zombies put up the 2nd highest score of the week, only to find themselves up against the top scorer, who pulled off the win in the last drive of an OT Monday Night game, as Sanders caught one last reception to put The Futures over the top.  A brutal end for a surprising turnaround season from the Zombies.

Week 14

And so it ends, with the Nutts as the #1 seed and the Zombies making playoffs for the first time in franchise history.  It's unfortunate that an inactive player in a starting lineup had such an effect on the playoff picture, and we may have to look at some bylaw modifications to prevent such things from happening in the future.  But here we are, and it's time to look at the post season, which includes 3 of 4 former champions!

Week 12

And they've done it.  With two weeks still to go, the Nutts have secured a 1st round bye in the playoffs.  Congrats!  Strangely enough, on the other side of things, not a single team has been mathematically eliminated from wildcard contention yet.  The bottom 5 teams are all close enough that it'll be a fight til the end to figure the two wildcards.

ACL and The Futures have secured their playoff spots, but are still neck and neck to determine the bye team.  Meanwhile the E-Munnies and bEARs are still fighting over who will join the Nutts for Newizona's representation.
