Week 16

And then there were two.  I want to thank all of you for giving this little experiment a try this year, and even though I clearly have an inherent bias, I think it was a pretty successful inaugural season!  We aren't quite finished, even after we crown the first champion we have some stuff to take care of, which is part of what makes the dynasty format so interesting!  But before we get to all that, a review of the recently fallen:

Semi Finals Review

What an unfortunate week for the tEDDy bEARs to have a down game!  Reed and Forte paved the way, but as with many a would-be champion this season, Megatron let them down when they needed him most.  It might even have not mattered, except Amari Cooper decided it was the beginning of the season again, and put up the numbers that kept him starting for The Futures through all the bad weeks.

What a grudge match that would spell the unlikely end for Julio and Friends!  It started with a monster game from, of all people, Tavon Austin, to set the Friends up for a favorable Sunday.  White, Wilson, and of course Julio all put up big scores, making it a long shot for ACL going into Sunday night.  Then something miraculous happened.  The man who was dropped for a kicker had a game-changing 3TD outing against the Eagles, putting up 46pts and giving ACL a 30pt lead going into Monday night.  All that could have saved the Friends was replacement-TE Ebron having the game of his life on Monday.  He started strong, but one called back TD later and it was done.

With that, the top two teams from each division were eliminated post-bye.

Finals Preview

This is it.  The game that determines who will have bragging rights for the rest of this league's history as the first winner.  The Futures made the correct moves mid-season to make it this far, considering they went for a younger team in the draft.  ACL, though losing arguably their best player in the preseason to injury, made the best of what they could by stashing as many handcuffs and WR2s they could, just in hopes that one or more of them would pay off.  And pay off they have.

Now it's down to the last week of tinkering.  Which matchups are best?  Who is healthy enough to trust?  Do we know anything or is it all just uncontrollable luck that determines the results of all this time and effort?

End of Season Housekeeping

With most leagues, after Monday we would crown the champ then forget about fantasy until late summer.  That isn't the case with dynasty.  While activity will certainly die down in the off season, there are still things to be done!

12/28 - May 2016 (after NFL draft)
After the final game of the championships, FA/Waivers will be locked and trades will be opened.  Teams will not be able to pick up free agents, but they will be able to trade with other managers throughout the off season.  This includes players AND draft picks for the next two years.

This will also be the time frame that any rules changes/additions will be discussed and voted on.

May 2016 (Date TBD): Rookie Draft
Rosters will be expanded by 8 (to 38 total).  There will be a 6-round draft, where teams will draft from all FA (rookies included).  This is non-snake, order determined by season ranking for non-playoff teams, followed by playoff placement for playoff teams.

Rookie Draft - August 2016 (Date TBD)
Rosters will remain at 38 until sometime in August, when all teams will have to reduce back down to 30.
