bEARs Win!

Well what do you know.  The #1 team in the regular season with the top seed in the playoffs actually won the whole thing.  This team has dominated the regular season for two years running, last year thanks in large part to avoiding major injuries during an injury-ridden year, and this year by relying on old, reliable guys like DeMarco, Crabtree, and the one and only Drew Brees.

Week 16

A Visit to the Finals

'Twas the night before the finals, when all through the league
Not an owner was stirring, probably due to fatigue;
The lineups were set by the finalists with care,
In hopes that the trophy soon would be theirs;
The players were ready, the matchups were set,
Ready to fulfill this season-long bet

Week 15

Week 14 was a devastating one to many a playoff team.  The lowest scoring week in the last two years, it was a stressful one to say the least!  The aptly-named Wildcard Week was not kind to the two wildcards, who have joined the other 2016 losers (I say that with love, honest).  As the remaining teams prepare for the semifinals, the stakes are at their highest, since the losers will get nothing but a bad draft pick, while the winners will get paid.

Week 14

Well folks, that's it for the regular season.  For the playoff picture, Runner Runner was able to win the crucial last game to take the Colorexico bye, while the tEDDy bEARs were able to secure the Newizona side.  The wildcard spots were already known, but it's worth noting that Land O'Nutts were able to handily defeat Show Me Your TDs.  A preview of things to come, perhaps?

Week 13

And then there were six.  Sicarios, The Futures, and Julio and Friends have all joined BgDkDdys outside of playoff contention for year 2.  The trophy will have a new home!  The two wildcard teams will be Show Me Your TDs and Land O'Nutts, regardless of this week's outcome.  But the two byes are still in contention between the top four teams.  As luck would have it, those four teams actually face each other directly in the last week of the regular season.  How awesome is that?

Week 12

This week's post is going to be a bit earlier than normal so you all have a chance to read and prepare for the priorities ahead (and of course I'm talking about starting a full lineup, the turkey can be had after).  After week 11's bloodbath, 5 teams have emerged with guaranteed spots in the playoffs.  Arrogance Can't Lose and Runner Runner will be the top two Colorexico teams, though which gets the bye is still up in the air.  In Newizona the tEDDy bEARs, Show Me Your TDs, and E-Munnies are all in a battle for the top two spots, but whichever comes out behind will take the first wildcard spot.  That leaves one wildcard spot still up for grabs, and it's actually a pretty close competition among the rest to see who gets it.

Week 11

Alright, we're gonna have to talk about Sicarios.  This is worse than anything the TDs did last season.  Derek Carr, TY Hilton, and Jaye Howard all either on bye or out due to injury last week, and all three in the Sicarios starting lineup.  Come on, man.  You can park Vincent Jackson on IR and pick up a random QB for the week, and could easily sub out the others.  Don't give people free wins, really ruins the competitiveness of the league.  Set your lineups, people!

Week 10

Huge scores this week.  I mean huge!  The scores this week are really the best scores, everybody knows.  The top teams have been working tirelessly to build that wall around the playoff berths, and the bottom teams are paying for it.  Players coming back from injury, byes almost all behind us, it's time to make dynasty great again!

Week 9

They did it!  Sicarios started Cooks and they won a match!  Tragically, as a result of this victory, BgDkDdy has been eliminated from divisional contention.  There is still chance they could go on a run to earn one of the wildcard spots, though!

Week 8

Congratulations are in order this week, as one of our owners welcomes a new addition to their household.  It's their first, though we wonder if they will keep it going with more in the future (after some much needed rest, of course).  Of course I'm talking about BgDkDdy adding the first tally to their wins column this week.  Congrats!

Week 7

The top two teams in each division continue to separate themselves from the rest of the pack, but their positions are far from locked and the wildcard spots are still wide open.  Probably the most surprising turn of events after last week are the 4th place teams in each division.  Preseason favorites, Julio and Friends and the tEDDy bEARs have fallen far from their former glory.  At 2-4 and 3-3, respectively, they are not out of it yet, but have a bit of a road ahead of them if they want to challenge for the wildcard spots.

Week 6

Uh oh.  Someone learned the wrong lessons from the TD's hilariously awful 2015 season.  As much as this blog laughed about that season, it's only fair that we give the same amount of shame to the Julio and Friends owner.  So here we go.  Shame on you, Friends.  Shame.

Week 5

The mighty were humbled after last week's games, and this year proves again and again that you need more than just proven studs to pull off wins.  Probably the biggest development after week 4: Show Me Your TDs is the current Newizona division leader.  Let that sink it for a bit.  I'll wait.

Week 4

That Monday night game, tho.  This week had plenty of studs putting up duds, others putting up historic high scores, and all of it while avoiding any new major injuries!  Also the Jets happened, so that was fun.  The makeup of each division is starting to take shape, and a few teams find themselves in unexpected places (Julio and Friends are last in Colorexico, for one).  Throw in some new ammo for the Tevin versus Devonta debate, and you have a recipe for another exciting week of dynasty football!

Week 3

Let me start by apologizing for the delay in this week's post.  ACL's loss to the Munnies took the winds out of this writer's sails.  But, now we must look forward!  Injuries and blowouts defined last week's games, including one very unfortunate trade.

Week 2

A match decided by decimals, a champion losing, and the last place team breaking records; week 1 couldn't get much better!  Although the injury-bug has once again reared it's ugly head, we only have to look to last year to see how much worse it could have been.  Still, we bow our heads in remembrance of Mr. Allen.  May he someday play even half a season.

Week 1

The wait is finally over!  All the research, all the negotiations, all the off-season energy goes into this first week.  Will the owners that spent way too much time making moves actually prove it was worth it, or will it be the owners that had a relaxing spring and summer not thinking about football at all?

2016 Draft Review

Congratulations all on finishing the league's first rookie draft!  There were some interesting choices, and some unfortunate timeouts, but all in all things went pretty smoothly, and we finished in only three weeks!  Now that the dust has settled, let's review how each team's draft ended up.

2016 Dynasty League Draft

The off-season has been pretty busy (well, at least for one team), and it's about to get even busier!  The NFL draft is next week, meaning the Dynasty League's draft is right around the corner.  Some GMs have grown complacent since championship week, while others have been making moves in preparation of the draft.  In anticipation of many confused questions, this blog will attempt to sum up the off-season moves thus far, as well as explain how the draft will work.

"The Future is Now!"

"The Future is Now!"

That's the text I got from The Futures' team manager that Sunday afternoon.  I was out to a late lunch so wasn't watching the games, but I remember being in a reasonable position by the half, with the Jags somehow struggling against New Orleans.  The text prompted me to check the scores...what happened?  The Bortles/Robbinson 90-yard TD happened.  The rest was merely window dressing after that crucial play, which paved the way for our inaugural winners, The Futures!
