Week 1

The wait is finally over!  All the research, all the negotiations, all the off-season energy goes into this first week.  Will the owners that spent way too much time making moves actually prove it was worth it, or will it be the owners that had a relaxing spring and summer not thinking about football at all?

The Sicarios are playing very coy with their starting lineup, so it's difficult to know just what ACL will find themselves up against.  The biggest question is probably whether they will run with Carr or roll the dice on RG3.  Both have pretty juicy matchups.  ACL, on the other hand, finds themselves with too many studs and not enough field space to play them all!  It doesn't take a biased blogger to see that this battle is pretty one sided.

Youth vs Experience is the name of this matchup.  Last year's champs are starting up the homer train strong with a whopping 5 Arizona starters!  Ironically, their opponent for the week probably has more in common with the Cards after their dominant run throughout the regular season which was crushed just one game before the big show.  The bEARs made some moves in the offseason, and seem to have put together a win-now team of vets, who hope to start the season by taking down the Futures' young guns.

The E-Munnies didn't even get to start the season without yet another big New England injury.  Luckily they had Hyde to step in for the ailing Lewis, but they can't be happy about relying on a 49er.  The Nutts have a redraft dream-team, and have again invested heavily in the Green Bay offense.  With the Pack facing Jacksonville in what should be quite the shootout, the Nutts have a chance to put last year's embarrassing performance behind them by taking down one of the league's strongest teams.

This is a difficult match to write about, since I honestly have no idea what to expect out of either of these teams.  The Ddys spent all last season on a wild rollercoaster of records, both high and low, while the TDs spent most of the season absent entirely.  The latter's coach has made promises in the media to turn the team around, but actions will be louder than words.

The Runner's season was plagued by injuries, cutting short what looked to be a dominant team to a merely mediocre record.  That record is misleading, however, as the team heads into the year with a healthy and powerful one-two punch in RBs and led by the '16 points leader, Cam Newton.  The Friends start the year in a similar situation to the Munnies, with one of their key players hurt for at least the first 4-6 weeks.  They do still have Aguayo, though!
