Week 3

Let me start by apologizing for the delay in this week's post.  ACL's loss to the Munnies took the winds out of this writer's sails.  But, now we must look forward!  Injuries and blowouts defined last week's games, including one very unfortunate trade.

Week 2 Review

The E-Munnies coach graciously allowed ACL to choose which QB they would face, but in the end it didn't much matter which choice they made.  ARob and disappointing defensive play from ACL was all the Munnies needed to take another Brady-less win.  The team, like their NFL counterpart, looks like a monster regardless of who's slinging the ball.

The Future's now hold the most wins any team has against Julio and Friends, after defeating them in spite of Digg's amazing performance.  Part of this story comes down to kickers, as Catanzaro outscored Aguayo by 10 points.

A couple of matches proved to be complete blowouts, As both Sicarios and TDs lost by 40+ points.  The Cam-Kelvin connection is real, and will be a tough pair to beat on Runner Runner.  The tEDDy bEARs, as last year, seem to be an unbeatable force with even their old guys putting up 30 pointers.

Which brings us to Land O'Nutts vs BgDkDdys.  Another week, another Nutts game decided by less than a point.  Only this time, the Nutts found themselves on the right side of the coin toss.  Woodhead's injury was a crucial blow to the Ddys, and they will be hard pressed to replace the vet.

Week 3 Preview

Two teams defined by their love of kickers, this will be a fun one.  Julio and Friends need to shake off the rust made apparent by their last game.  Jamal is looming on the horizon, which will make the Ware/West/Charles decision a difficult one, and Julio himself has been struggling to put up his expected numbers.  All that said, the real decider between these two teams will be the kickers.  Can Aguayo hold his own against the legend, Gostkowski?

Runner Runner hopes that they've found their groove and can get a streak going, while their opponent, the Ddy's, needs something to change.  The Woodhead injury was already devastating enough, but now they find themselves facing the guy most likely to benefit from the extra touches, Melvin Gordon.  Acquiring Gordon was expensive, as the team gave up the consistent PPR production from Landry, and the other player they got in the deal (Coleman) suffered a broken hand before it had even finished processing.

The bottom two teams from last year have been making an effort to change their fates, and now face each other.  The Nutts desperately need the Green Bay offense to get over whatever it is that's holding them back this season, while the TDs are only hoping Pittsburgh can continue their tendency for fantasy points.

Superbowl rematch.  The last time these two teams played, ARob made the deciding catch that propelled the Futures into league history as the first champion.  This time around, Robinson is playing for the other side, and ACL hopes to see similar production.  Sophomore Parker looked good last week, for the first time in the player's career, and gets to play Cleveland this week, which should be a promising start for the Futures.

History repeats itself, as the last remaining undefeated teams this season are the same as last season.  The E-Munnies are still a couple weeks away from getting Brady back, while the bEARs are riding old man Brees production for as long as they can.  One of these teams will go into week 4 at 3-0, with a great start toward that coveted playoff bye.
