Week 5

The mighty were humbled after last week's games, and this year proves again and again that you need more than just proven studs to pull off wins.  Probably the biggest development after week 4: Show Me Your TDs is the current Newizona division leader.  Let that sink it for a bit.  I'll wait.

Week 4 Review

I'll start with the most crushing defeat of the week, the Friends defeating ACL on Monday Night Football.  After a combined 78pts from Julio and AJ, ACL was in bad shape until scraping every point they could to keep the game even going into the last game.  It would come down to Diggs versus OBJ.  Predictably, OBJ got upset and shit the bed.

Interestingly, the week Land O'Nutts couldn't play any Packers was a week they could pull off a win.  All it took was a 47pt game from Matt Ryan.  Maybe the Nutt's owner is onto something after all.

Watching the tEDDy bEARs face the BgDkDddys might be like what this week's NE/CLE will look like.  Just complete domination without much hope at all for the underdog.  At least Sanders put up good numbers.  So that's something.

Speaking of New England facing a formerly laughable team, would you look at that!  The TDs defeated the previously undefeated E-Munnies.  Bell is back, fellas, and he's apparently a receiver during his non-RB plays now.

Runner Runner took full advantage of their recent trade, fielding Gordon in a decided victory over his previous owner.  Last year's championship roster struggled just to get double digits out of its players.  A fluke?  Or a sign of outliers coming back down to Earth?

Week 5 Preview

Jacksonville, New Orleans, and Kansas City byes leave ACL with few options when it comes to start/sit decisions this week.  They'll be relying heavily on the Green Bay offense to continue the run they were on before last week's bye.  Runner Runner will be without their star defensive players this week, though most of their offensive starters are playing and healthy, making this an uphill battle for their opponent.

Surprisingly, this matchup is only projected a .75pt difference, though both teams have BYE players rostered so that will likely change by kickoff.  The E-Munnies finally get Brady back, which means what little advantage other teams had against them is now gone.  It will take perfect lineup choices and top performances out of player to take the team down.

The Sicarios are hoping they get to face last week's Futures.  Without their Seattle RB and Cooks this week, they'll be scraping their bench to figure the right choice against the defending champs.  The Futures lost their coveted Palmer to concussion this week, and backup Bortles is on BYE, leaving them with only Rivers to start.  As luck would have it, the SD/OAK game looks to be a shootout.

At 2-2, Land O'Nutts are in a great position to turn their season around and keep the run going for a playoff spot.  They will need to defeat the Brees-less bEARs to keep the dream alive, and they'll have Nelson and Lacy back to help make it happen.

Again, I just don't know how to predict TD matches anymore.  The team seems consistently dominant, and they own the most important pieces of the TD-factory that is the Pittsburgh offense.  With Bell making places as WR and DWill still getting runs, it's kind of ridiculous.  Julio and Friends will be without their Chiefs RB this week, though that might be a blessing in disguise as it's still difficult to predict which of the Ware/Charles duo will get the most work.

Week 5 starts tonight with what should be an epicly ugly game between the Carson-less Cardinals facing the Navorro-less 49ers.  I'm not even going to try and guess what kind of scoring we'll get out of that one.
