Week 8

Congratulations are in order this week, as one of our owners welcomes a new addition to their household.  It's their first, though we wonder if they will keep it going with more in the future (after some much needed rest, of course).  Of course I'm talking about BgDkDdy adding the first tally to their wins column this week.  Congrats!

Week 7 Review

Land O'Nutts had a bit of a wakeup call after their three-game winning streak came to a crushing hault against ACL.  McCoy hurt, Nelson with only a single reception, this just wasn't their week.  Adding insult to injury, Rodgers got 30pts, and a good portion of that going Cobb's way.  ARob's goose egg almost didn't even register.

Starting inactive players can't fight against that newborn luck.  The Ddy's put up the top score this week against a continually struggling Futures team.  Even Landin Collins got a touchdown!

Alright.  Sicarios.  Here is some free advice: STOP BENCHING THE SAINTS #1 RECEIVER!  Ahem.  Sorry about that, just had to get it out there.  Seriously, stop doing that.

The E-Munnies were able to get that crucial win to remain in contention for the Newizona bye, though they still lose the tiebreaker with TDs.  They got a bit lucky as Runner Runner was forced to bench Cam during the Carolina bye and plug in Hoyer.  Hoyer would've probably still gotten the job done had it not been for that crucial early game injury that has him out for the season.

The Julio and Friends fall from grace continues, as they tack on another loss, this time to the inconsistent tEDDy bEARs.  Ty Montgomery might prove the add of the season, as the unusually Green Bay situation has him playing both RB and WR, and FleaFlicker has given him both designations.  Regardless, the bEARs still have quite a road ahead of them to get back atop the division.

Week 8 Preview

ACL has a single-win hold of the Colorexico bye, and they'd like to maintain that position.  However their studs have been lackluster as of late, with Rodgers and ARob both putting up unimpressive numbers this season.  On the other side of this match, the bEARs have put together a formidable offense (even if their record doesn't convey it).  Forte will have the backfield to himself this week, making him a solid tandem with DeMarco.  ACL will need all of Brees' targets to go Thomas' way in order to pull off the win.

Projected two points different, Julio and Friends are actually favored in this week's matchup.  They will need Charles to remain in his limited role so that Ware can continue putting up huge numbers, as it is no easy task taking on the New England offense.

McCoy likely benched, Theo still questionable, half the roster on bye.  This week doesn't look great for Land O'Nutts.  Their only ray of hope is John Brown's struggle with his Sickle Cell diagnosis.  This is one of those times where the 2-5 team is the dominant favorite.

Less than a point spread between the two last place teams, who will emerge with the covetted 2-6 record?  The Ddy's are still riding high from their last win (and other things), but they also just lost Anderson.  With all of the byes this week, it might finally force Sicarios into starting Cooks, but will they?  Seriously, what did Brandin do to deserve such treatment?  There's gotta be some kind of beef between him and the Sicarios coach.

This might be the first week of the season wherein the TDs are not favored to win.  Even though Runner Runner will be without Gurley, they get Freeman with the entire backfield to himself, which hasn't been the case since his monster games last season.  The TDs are without Bell, and so are forced to rely on Yeldon.  Yuck.
