Week 12

This week's post is going to be a bit earlier than normal so you all have a chance to read and prepare for the priorities ahead (and of course I'm talking about starting a full lineup, the turkey can be had after).  After week 11's bloodbath, 5 teams have emerged with guaranteed spots in the playoffs.  Arrogance Can't Lose and Runner Runner will be the top two Colorexico teams, though which gets the bye is still up in the air.  In Newizona the tEDDy bEARs, Show Me Your TDs, and E-Munnies are all in a battle for the top two spots, but whichever comes out behind will take the first wildcard spot.  That leaves one wildcard spot still up for grabs, and it's actually a pretty close competition among the rest to see who gets it.

Week 11 Review

The first team to be eliminated from playoff contention this year is BgDkDdy.  Though he had a few late season comeback games, it wasn't enough to keep him going to the end.  The team will play spoiler from here on out.  As a result of their loss, though, we have a new leader in Newizona!  The tEDDy bEARs fought past their own rough start and have emerged at the top.  They are in a three-way tie, though, so they will need to keep it going if they want the bye.

ACL, once again, beat The Futures.  The win keeps them at the top of Colorexico, though Runner Runner continues to maintain a close race.  The Futures are now 3-8, and will need to win both of their next two games to make a run at the last wildcard.  They will also need Land O'Nutts to lose both games, and for Julio and Friends to lose at least one.

Sicarios needs the same series of events to transpire, but also need The Futures to lose once.  Despite yet again starting two inactive players, the team was saved from complete elimination by the bad luck of the Friends.  They lost AJ Green early in the game, and it's still unsure whether it will be for the season.  That said, Julio and Friends have the best shot of the teams in Colorexico at taking the wildcard spot, as they only need to outperform Land O'Nutts to get in.

Which brings us to the team that started Case Keenum, despite numerous reports that Goff would be getting his first start.  Yes, the Nutts would have lost anyway, but this blog doesn't like to ignore teams who start inactives.  Shame!  Despite the bad call, the Nutts are in the best position currently to take the last wildcard.  They have a single win over Julio and Friends, and if they can maintain that lead they will take the #6 spot.

Week 12 Preview

First it was Jamaal, and now AJ Green, the season hasn't been kind to Julio and Friends.  Though they might be able to fade another loss in their attempt at the last wildcard spot, they are in much better shape if they can win out.  This week it's against ACL, which has been in a bit of an up-and-down trend the last few weeks.  The Friends need this week to be on the down side.

The E-Munnies face a 3-way tie for the Newizona bye, and Land O'Nutts have a very tenuous grasp of a wildcard spot.  This is an important matchup for both.  The Munnies will likely be forced to once again rely upon only a single NE tight end, openning the door for a potential Nutts upset.

There's only a single point spread in this game.  For fear of upsetting anyone, I won't mention anything about STARTING A COMPLETE AND ACTIVE LINEUP....*cough*.  The Futures need every win if they are going to try for a repeat championship, and Runner Runner only has two more chances to overcome ACL for the bye.

The bEARs have to hope that Sicarios continue to neglect their lineup, as they only recently acquired the bye and need to keep winning to maintain it.  Sicarios, on the other hand, have only a single route to the playoffs, and it's a win every step of the way from here.  (SET YOUR LINEUP)

Projected as a lap, with BgDkDdy not even rostering a kicker, this one seems a foregone conclusion.  Though eliminated from playoff contention, the team can still play spoiler for the remaining contenders.  And if there's anything the Ddy's have proven, it's that you can never tell which week they will have the highest score, and which they will have the lowest.

Two more weeks remain to make your claim, boys.  Don't let the distractions of family life get in the way of victory!  The trophy needs a new home, whose will it be?
