Week 6

It has been quite a while since the last post, and for that I apologize!  I could give some excuses, but that's boring and not why you're reading this.  Things have shaken out quite a bit in the rankings, and only one team remains undefeated (in spite of heavy losses to season-ending injuries).  The Ddys, Futures, and Nutts are starting to fall out of it, but it's still early enough in the season for them to turn it around if they can navigate their own injuries!

Week 5 Review

ACL barely pulled off the crucial win against Runner Runner, mostly just a result of the latter team's gooseggs from their RBs.  As a result ACL has pulled ahead in Colorexico, but they've now lost Odell who joins Dalvin, Olsen, and ARob on the IR.

The E-Munnies toko advantage of an unfortunate bye week for the Ddys, beating them by almost double the score.  Wentz may have taking over the starting role on the bEARs, scoring 35 points and leading the team to victory over the Nutts, whose own sophomore QB hasn't quite lived up to the same expectations.

Julio and Friends were without Julio, but luckily they had AJ Green to put up a massive score, giving them the win over the current Newizona lead, TDs.  Probably the most impressive performance, however, came from our new owner against the 2015 champions.  Finally earning their jersey, the Radioactive Zombies put up the league high score of 144pts this week, led by their dominant pair of rookie running backs.  The Futures, on the other hand, suffer yet another loss in what is proving a pretty rough season.

Week 6 Preview

Despite outward appearances, the season has been a hard one on ACL.  One by one, their studs are dying.  Who will be next, or can the curse pass to another team?  The Ddys are currently projected favorites in the matchup, which would be a good turn for the team.  Relying on McCown under center, though, can't be fun.

The TDs have a rough week of byes as they face off against the struggling Futures.  Could this be the week the Futures remember they were champions, and turn it around?  The depth certainly seems to be there, but picking the right starters might be what makes the difference.  The TDs need to keep winning to maintain their tenuous grasp of the division, as their record is tied with the Munnies and bEARs going into week 6.

Only a 4 points spread separates these two teams, can the Zombies build on their last win and put a run together?  Toppling the Munnies would have huge repercussions on standings, and would put the Zombies in the discussion for a wildcard spot.  Not such a rebuild, afterall!  The Munnies hope for the alternative, of course, as they are within a game of the TDs and the divisional lead.

Runner Runner's roster is full of studs, but they have a nasty habit of randomly putting up sub-5pt weeks out of nowhere.  While they still have a 2 game buffer before having to worry about dropping to wildcard status, they have no interest in making this losing thing a pattern.  The bEARs will be without Dez, and most likely TyMo, but fortunately they managed to scoop up Aaron Jones who has been doing very well for himself for starting the season a 3rd string rookie.  This will likely end up one of the higher scoring matches of the week.

The Nutts had been able to dodge the injury bug all season, until last week finally hit them by taking out Clay.  The team will hope that Henry can maintain the production he had last week, and not revert back to his earlier season donuts.  With nearly a third of the team on bye, Julio and Friends have an easy lineup to set this week!  In any other year losing both Wilson and Dalton and being forced to plug in Smith probably hurts, but this is a wacky year!  The Friends are "forced" to start the QB1.  We feel all the pity.
