Week 2

Yay for football!  Hey what if I told you your offensive players could have an average score of 20 and you'll still lose?  That's a fun way to start the season, yah?  Throw in some injury scares, some surprise performances out of new owners, and the TDs starting an inactive...well we got ourselves a stew goin!

Week 1 Review

The highest scoring matchup took place between the returning champions and always-a-bridesmaid ACL.  Both teams scored above 150, but it was an exciting run of events going into SNF.  The Munnies had all but run away with it when Rodgers went down in the 1st.  Fearing the worst, ACL's owner started depressingly watching Trubiski as a potential replacement for the rest of the season.  Miracle-Rodgers, though, said no to that!  In the end, despite the amazing comeback in Green Bay, ACL just could not overcome the dude from Kelce, and will start the season 0-1.

Our newest owner of Doctor B surprised everyone with a dominant performance, putting up the third highest score against the Futures.  Not even Tyreek's godly game was enough to save the once-champions.

The lowest scoring matchup had Runner Runner barely beating out the Zombies.  Saved by Gurley, the Runners are gonna have to do better than a sub-100 score to keep up later in the season.  Brees led the bEARs to a solid win over the TDs, though it had to take a little bit of the wind out of their sales to see Bell still in their opponents' lineup.  Rest assured, though, it didn't matter.  Seriously...what happened to the TDs?  That bench...yikes.

Finally we had the BgDkDdy's taking the newest father in the group to the woodshed.  Despite a surprisingly impressive start out of Kenny Stills, the Nutts just couldn't stand up to the combined might of Keenan and Sanders.

Week 2 Preview

Both teams took hits on defense, losing starters to IR last week.  But this will largely depend on if Rodgers actually does have to miss time.  All signs seem to indicate he'll be on the field, but I really wouldn't want to jinx it...  The futures made a huge gamble on waivers this week, spending their entire season's budget on Jared Cook, releasing the beloved RSJ in the process.  They'll need all the help the can get going up against the 30pt favorites.

The E-Munnies show no signs of slowing down after their victorious 2018 season, and this week they take on their predecessor.  The bEARs would love to wipe the shame of their last loss from the record, and taking down the champ one week after they put up the top score is a great chance to do so!  There's less than a 2pt spread on the match, so it could really go either way.

If the TDs remember the Bell is still holding out, they should be solid favorites against Land O'Nutts, who had a rough go of it last week, and will have another tough time figuring out who to start this week.  What if they start AP next to Shady for the super-old-RB tour?  Could be fun!

With Luck back the Ddys are like a whole new team!  Not great for Runner Runner who know all to well how much each week matters once things wind down at the end of the season.  Personally my favorite part of this matchup is Njoku going up against ASJ.  Two TEs this writer loved going into the season but who failed to live up to expectations week 1.  With only a 3pt spread, it might just come down to which of them has the better game!

The first matchup between our league's two newest franchises!  Doctor B came out the doors running, so the Zombies will need to step up to keep the new(er) guy in check.  Fournette's latest injury drama isn't great for that trend, hopefully the team has a plan in place just in case.

Sorry for missing last week's blog entry, fellas.  I will do my best not to fall into the bad habits of last years, and keep up with this thing!  As long as you keep reading it, anyway.  Good luck this week!
