Week 12

And they've done it.  With two weeks still to go, the Nutts have secured a 1st round bye in the playoffs.  Congrats!  Strangely enough, on the other side of things, not a single team has been mathematically eliminated from wildcard contention yet.  The bottom 5 teams are all close enough that it'll be a fight til the end to figure the two wildcards.

ACL and The Futures have secured their playoff spots, but are still neck and neck to determine the bye team.  Meanwhile the E-Munnies and bEARs are still fighting over who will join the Nutts for Newizona's representation.

Week 11 Review

The TDs were able to pull off a last second active lineup against ACL, but it didn't make much of a difference.  While not eliminated, they are a long shot with how many injuries and contract disputes the team has faced this season.  The Nutts pulled off a 30pt win over the bEARs, despite sub-7pt performances from three of their offensive starters.  I can't speak much for how the bEARs lost so badly, the team just didn't show up.  Maybe they are as afraid of the upstart Nutts as the rest of us should be.

Asleep at the wheel, the Ddys gave up a chance to upset the Munnies this week by leaving Minshew in the lineup, and Cousins' 30pts on the bench.  That's pretty rough, and I hope the owner wakes up before season's end!  (seriously though, guys, it's all I ask you to do...set a lineup!)

Speaking of setting lineups, the Zombies/Reek matchup almost went the same way, with the former leaving several starting spots empty.  Lucky for them, our newest owner is on a historic losing streak and wasn't about to let an unobservant opponent get in the way!  If the Zombies can keep this up, it might be the most unexpected playoff appearance yet.

The Futures narrowly pulled off their win over Doctor B, but lost Tyreek and Mack to injury in the process.  They may have preferred the loss as we close in on the playoffs.  Aside from CMC, the team has had some rough decisions to make at RB, and it looks like that will continue.

Week 12 Preview

ACL currently holds the tiebreaker over The Futures for the bye, but a single loss can throw that.  Zombies is on a 2-game winning streak without setting a lineup, and now they are paying attention.  Could it swing the other way with starters at every position?  Odell has snuck his way back into the starting lineup for ACL...which may be a bad sign.

E-Munnies' lack of RB depth is really showing this week, as they are forced to plug in Jonathon Williams while Gordon is on bye.  Even with such a gross twist of fate, they are only projected 4pts down from the Futures.  Probably because Lamar Jackson is a fantasy cheat code.

Help us, Ddys, you're our only hope!  Assuming the Ddys swap out Keenan and Minshew, they *might* have a shot against the 1-seed.  If it were this time last year I'd call it a sure thing, but their owner seems to have forgotten how much fun playing spoiler can be.  Not to mention the long-shot chance of still making playoffs!

Moving right along in my criticism of bye-week starters...half of the TDs current lineup is on bye.  I'm about 80% convinced he's trolling me.  So it's about impossible for me to call this one, but most likely the bEARs get their Mikkle-win.

This is an interesting one with playoff-implications.  Both teams have had a rough run the last few weeks, especially Reek with a 6-game losing streak!  They are currently tied, along with the Zombies, at 4-7.  More than likely only one of the three gets a wildcard spot, so this matchup is pretty important.  Probably not a good time to point out how 2/3 of Reek's fleaflicker name are on bye...

I know I say it every year, but it is pretty great that even going into the last two weeks not a single team has been eliminated.  I think some of you may have started giving up way too early, since in a lot of leagues sitting at 3-8 would mean you're dead in the water.  But that isn't the case here!  Keep fighting, and keep setting lineups!
