Week 6 Preview

A week of extremes, one match finished within a point difference, while another finished a whopping 84 pt. spread!  Every single week this season has had a unique points leader.  We're probably about due for a repeat, but who will be the first?

Week 5 Review

Going into Sunday night's game up 127 to 54, it seemed like a pretty done deal for Runner RunnerEli and OBJ had other plans, however, as they combined for 58 pts!  Throw in a kicker and a defensive player along with a last minute TD throw by Eli, and that's the stuff comebacks are made of.

BgDkDdy's trade for Hill didn't quite pay dividends this week, as Hill only put up 25 yards for 3pts.  Cousin's similarly poor performance made it pretty difficult to compete with the E-Munnies, especially as New England continues to dominate at every position.

The Futures have never looked better, scoring the most points even with Cooper and Murray falling below expectation.  The Sicarios, on the other hand, continue their struggle to find a groove.  Hope is on the horizon, though, as LaFell and Lynch return from injury, with Romo not too far behind.

The tEDDy bEARs looked good, putting up a formidable 127 pts with a surprisingly solid performance out of Murray.  Not that any of that was really necessary, as Land O' Nutts put up the lowest score in the league's history at 43 pts.   Starting such players as the clearly injured Watkins, Nutts have earned this week's Joe Philbin Award!  Congratulations on making history!

Finally, the closest nail-biter of the week, the roller coaster ride that is Show Me Your TDs versus the consistently top-performer Julio and FriendsCharles' injury resulted in TDs only needing 27 pts out of studs Bell and Brown on Monday.  Big Ben's absence is showing more and more every week, though, as Brown only put up 6 pts.  It came down to the last score of the game, but Bell was narrowly able to squeeze out the 1 pt win for TDs.  This was the second time this season that a consensus dog pulled an upset.

Week 6 Preview

The experts largely favor the bEARs for this matchup, and for good reason.  Consistently putting up an average of 127 pts. while being able to avoid any major injuries has made them a tough team to beat.  ACL, on the other hand, has been about as inconsistent as can be.  Seemingly involved in a major trade every week, it's difficult to know who, exactly, they will be fielding from one minute to the next.  This week they are gambling on West winning the job in Kansas City.

It's surprising the experts would be split when last week's points leader and points loser face off, but that's what we have this week.  You'd have to think Land O' Nutts are out to make up for their embarrassing performance last week, and with the favorable matchup against San Diego, it might just be time for Lacy to make his actual debut this season.  Not much new to report on The Futures, other than the fact that they may have struck gold with TE Barnidge.

Up against one of the only two teams with fewer Points For, this might just be the week that Sicarios turn it around!  The experts favor BgDkDdy across the board, but they've been wrong twice before.  The Ddy's will most likely have Luck back this week, though whether that's a good thing or not has yet to be proven.  The Sicarios need Beast Mode, and they need him bad.

Maclin, Thomas, and Landry are a difficult PPR team to beat.  With the Atlanta backfield debate seemingly settled, Runner Runner has maneuvered themselves into position as a serious contender this season.  That being said, if anyone is the dark horse for the year, it's Show Me Your TDs.  The rags-to-riches stories of Yeldon and Fitzgerald have breathed new life into the team, all they need is for Brown to find the same rhythm with Vick as he had with Ben.

Each of these teams would be the consensus pick against any other.  It's incredibly unfortunate that before this match could take place, Charles went down with an ACL injury.  Will Julio be able to overcome losing one of his best Friends?  Or will essentially just drafting the New England Patriots be all it takes to win?
