Week 7 Preview

Well it was another week of records, both in points scored and poor management!  Seriously, some owners really need to get their heads in the game, and others can just go ahead and calm down (looking at you, Ted).  We're in the thick of it now with BYE weeks, so bench depth is more important than ever, especially as teams start jockeying for playoff position now that we are halfway through the regular fantasy season.

Week 6 Review

The tEDDy bEARs certainly made their case for playoff contention this week, after putting up the league's new record 193pts!  Hopkins and Ivory look untouchable at their respective positions, and even Kelce managed to look like his old self with 88 yards.  ACL didn't stand much of a chance, even if they had managed to pull Bryant's 34pts from the bench.

The Futures came in second this week with a respectable 138pts against the recently struggling Land O' Nutts.  Trusting in Jacksonville is surprisingly paying off, as ARob is emerging as one of the most consistent PPR receivers in the game.  On the other side of the field, Lacy continues to frustrate the Nutts, as the former top pick shares more caries with his backup, Starks, every week.  Even stalwart Peterson put up a dud this week in what should have been a runaway against the Jamaal-less Kansas City.

Coming in third and earning themselves a nice new logo is BgDkDdy.  Luck remembered that he was a 1st round QB this week, which was unfortunate for the Sicarios who finally had a decent week, but still fell short..  It might be time for Morris to take a long look in the mirror.

Runner Runner made short work of Show Me Your TD's, who have earned their second seasonal Joe Philbin Award!  List of mistakes in increasing order of magnitude:
  1. Not starting Stafford against Chicago.  He and Bridgewater haven't really distinguished themselves that far from one another, but Teddy against the Chiefs?  Meh, forgivable.
  2. Starting the worst Johnson in Arizona.  Dude's a backup to a backup.  But I guess I could see the argument that he'd get some decent PPR love.
  3. Starting Quinn while St. Louis is on BYE.  Yah he's a defensive player, but come on, that's an easy one to catch.  There's a big red BYE next to his name!  You only had to look once at your lineup all week to catch that.
  4. Starting Yeldon even though he was declared OUT early Sunday morning.  Really surprised more people haven't brought this one up.  Don't be a Taco.  Be a winner.  Check your lineup.

That brings us to the game of the week, With only a 2pt lead, Julio and Friends solidified themselves as the top team in the league while giving the E-Munnies their first non-Patriots-BYE loss.  Charles' injury hurt, but clearly wasn't enough to put a stop to the Friends.  New England's decision to run with Blount against the Colts over Lewis put a damper on the Munnies chances, as even one more carry could have made the difference.  Look for these two teams to face off again in the playoffs!

Week 7 Preview

Probably still wondering what to do during their BYE week when you invest so heavily in one team, Land O' Nutts has yet to set their lineup against ACL.  Green Bay's BYE along with Watson's injury will make it difficult for the Nutts this week, so they'll be relying pretty heavily on Peterson coming back strong from last week's performance.  ACL's earlier aquisition of Miller finally paid off last week, and should continue as long as the new Miami playbook keeps him involved.  The bigger question this week is which reports out of Dallas are trustworthy.  Is Michael the new starter, or will it be just more RBBC trash points?

We've seen what happens when the Patriots play angry.  What happens when their fantasy-counterpart plays after a crucial loss?  Lewis should the guy again, but the Jets secondary is no joke.  Runner Runner will be hoping that Randle continues leading the committee in Dallas, and also find themselves hoping the Jets can keep the score down in New England.

You gotta hand it to Julio and Friends.  Even when things are looking bleak they somehow manage to pull off the win.  At the same time, they got lucky with how that New England game went down.  This week they face a Rodgers-less tEDDy bEARs, but a cozy matchup against the Colts makes Brees a pretty convenient replacement.  Now it's hard to like a backup receiver in Minnesota, but Diggs has produced two weeks in a row and doesn't look like he's stopping, and at this point the Friends need anything they can to keep their run going.

The Ddys had a solid week 6, but their competition is much fiercer this week.  With Steve "I don't care if my back is broken I'm playing" Smith back in the game, The Futures are looking solid at all positions against the "Yah I roster 5 TEs" BgDkDdy.  It should still be a close match, especially if Luck can keep playing at his 2014 level against New Orleans.

With another defensive player on BYE and another Q next to Yeldon, this is a chance for Show Me Your TDs to redeem their last week gaffs.  With Landry the likely QB in Pittsburgh over Vick, Brown may stand to get more targets, which probably accounts for his 19 projected points.  Sicarios are on a five game losing streak, and desperately need a win to turn things around.  With Denver on BYE and Romo still hurt, it looks to be Carr at the helm leading this ragtag group.
