Week 12

I totally called that Munnies/Nutts game didn't I?  The Nutts pulling off the unthinkable has resulted in an exciting situation as we come down to our last two weeks of regular season play!  The top 5 playoff spots are locked in for the top 5 teams, though the byes are still in dispute.  The last playoff spot is in contention for the bottom 5 teams, EACH of whom can still claim it!  Two weeks left and not a single team has been eliminated.  This season has been awesome!

Week 11 Review

ACL started strong with Big Ben's ridiculous 36pt Thursday night, and they never left off the gas.  With a 96% coach rating, there isn't much the team could have done differently (the lone exception being to bench Engram...literally the only target left in New York, who knew?).  Runner Runner pulled off a narrow victory over The Futures, allowing them to hold onto the Colorexico bye.

Show Me Your TDs has pulled ahead of the pack with a dominating win over the Ddys, giving them a single game lead over the bEARs and Munnies.  The Zombies are keeping themselves in the running for that wildcard spot, putting up a top5 score and besting the bEARs.  All said and done, week 12 may be the most important week of the season, as one or more teams should be eliminated from contention.

Week 12 Preview

The Zombies may have come as far as they are able this season.  One more loss and they will be out of the running for the last wildcard, and they find themselves against the broken but still powerful ACL.  They still have a chance, but it will require Hunt playing like his early-season self, and Fournette to get over his bum ankle already.

The Futures are the current owners of the wildcard spot, were the playoffs to begin now, but they only hold it by a single win.  This week they hope to keep the Munnies losing, though last week was more a fluke than anything as they still scored in the top 4.  Regardless, this should be a close-scoring match, Funchess and Reek vs Ajayi and Evans will probably be the deciding factor.

Can the Nutts keep it going?  Can Still pull off another rockstar performance?  Against the Pats, it seems likely.  Jordy, on the other hand, is struggling at Hundley's inability to throw to anyone but Adams.  The Ddys finally had a huge game out of Kennan last week, but it went to waste.  They'll be hoping he can put up a similar performance.

The bEARs took a beating week 11.  They lost the game, the tie for the bye, and perhaps most importantly, they lose Thompson.  Looking at their bench, I'm reminded of their ability to dodge major injuries last year on their championship run.  It's come back to bite them with a vengeance.  The TDs enjoy the favorable matchup, as they will likely continue to hold the division.

Ah, Julio and Friends.  Julio hast forsaken you.  Despite such a beautiful looking roster, things continue to go badly for the team.  And this week looks to be no different.  Runner Runner might be out Freeman again, and will be relying on Collins in his stead.  Will he keep a hold of the Baltimore starting position?

Reminder: the trade deadline is kickoff of week 13.  You have one more week to make any last minute deals before the playoffs!
