Week 6

Another week, another former champion defeated by Land O'Nutts.  I think I need to stop talking about them as though they are underdogs, they just keep winning!  The Futures are also starting to look as good as they were three years ago, meanwhile the E-Munnies continue to be the second highest point scorer while sitting at the bottom of their division.  They'll hope their recent win indicates a change as we approach the midpoint of the season.

Week 5 Review

The two 4-1 teams ended up having little to fear from their opponents, with the TDs and ACL each won with a 30pt lead.  The Ddys faced a bit of bad luck.  Despite being the 4th highest scorer they were up against the best team of the week led by Brady's 34pt performance.  It was certainly a nice turn of events for the Munnies, whose owner anticipated a loss after Thursday night's 58pt tie.

The Zombies took yet another loss as the season is starting to slip away from them.  They are still far from out of the running, but will need to make some serious changes unless they are already looking toward that 1st overall pick next year.

That brings us to the closest match of the week between the tEDDy bEARs and Land O'Nutts.  It was a brutal Monday night for the bEARs, who went into the last game with a 20pt lead as well as Thompson and Reed left to go against the Nutts' Ingram and DE.  It should have been an easy win, but Ingram came back from his suspension with all the TD looks while Thompson and Reed each put up duds.

Week 6 Preview

Jameis came back at just the right time for the TDs, who will be without Stafford.  Meanwhile the rumors of Philly looking into trading for DJ has to be a bittersweet feeling for the Futures' owner.  NFL fandom trumps fantasy, of course, but I imagine it would be nice to see DJ actually used correctly!  The Futures are projected a slight favorite over the TDs, and a win for them would put them in contention for the Colorexico division title.

Once again the Nutts face an opponent who is projected to win by over 30pts, but I just don't buy it anymore.  Maybe it's just a bit of new-dad luck, but if I were Doctor B I'd be worried about this one.  The good Doctor has four startable quarterbacks rostered, so I'm not sure who they plan to trot out against Goff.  They are lucky, though, that the Nutts will be without their new toy as Ingram sits out on bye.

Each of these 2-3 teams would love to get their season turned around at this point.  After the crucial mistake of starting Big Ben over Brees at home, the bEARs don't even get to make up for it since the Saints are on bye this week.  Still, they are projected favorites against a Runner Runner team that has had some trouble filling that last flex spot.  This week it looks like it might be Powell taking the field.  Godspeed.

I don't know if I can watch this one, it's gonna be ugly.  The Zombies are without TY, Fournette, and now MT.  They are projected 55pt underdogs against the defending champs.  They'll need to get some of whatever the Nutts started drinking three weeks ago to pull this one off.

I'm kind of scared for Ebron right now.  The other two TEs on the Ddys roster have ended their seasons on IR, and he's the last man standing.  ACL will be without their star RB, Kamara, this week, but it might be for the best since the player finally had a down game with the return of teammate Ingram.  Still, the team is projected 40pt favorites, minus whomever the Ddys sub in for Tate.

Well, all of my redraft leagues and most of my dynasties are going very poorly this season, so thank god I have this one!  I hope you all are faring well in your other leagues, because this year the trophy is finally gonna be mine!
