Week 8

ACL and the TDs continue to pull away, and while they haven't guaranteed themselves the bye quite yet, it's looking more and more likely they will be the two to sit out week 14.  But the big news is that congratulations are in order!  The Zombies pulled off their second win of the season!  Which actually puts them only a game behind the wildcard running.  Never say never, fellas.

Week 7 Review

Runner Runner had a real shot at overtaking the TDs last week, but were once again struck by some bad luck with Breida leaving the game early with an injury.  Combined with an ARob goose egg, that's all she wrote.  Land O'Nutts were back to form, putting up only 70pts in a blowout loss to the Futures, and now have to deal with a broken McCoy.  The E-Munnies made short work of Doctor B, putting them on a 3-game winning streak.  It might have gone the other way, but it's hard to lose when you get 16pts out of your linebacker.

The Zombies had a hell of a Sunday.  They went into the day down 42pts, and the Ddys had to feel pretty good looking at their Denver players' scores.  But then Kareem Hunt went and did his thing, reminding us of that amazing few week stretch at the beginning of last season.  Even Beathard's dud couldn't bring the team down after that performance.

Which brings us to the closest match of the week, between ACL and the tEDDy bEARs.  90% coaching efficiency for the bEARs, and 85% for ACL.  The game ended up only 2pts apart.  It came down to the last game of the week, with ACL's Odell and Saquon vs. the bEARs' 46pt lead.  It seemed a lost cause, but you never know what the Giants can do when the whole game is garbage time!  It came down to the last few seconds of the 4th quarter, when Odell caught that pointless TD in the back of the endzone, giving ACL just enough to pull off the win.  I love this game.

Week 8 Preview

The Zombies are actually projected favorites over the TDs this week, possibly due to the latter team still having Albert Wilson in the starting lineup.  Still, though, stranger things have happened this season!  As long as Denver remembers they are Denver, Hunt should see another good week and give the Zombies a shot at the "upset".

Once the Futures pick up an active defensive lineman, this match should end up projected pretty evenly.  Following their win last week the Futures find themselves second in the division, and will want to hold that spot.  The Ddys dropped down to be tied for last in theirs and are in danger of falling out of it altogether.  They'll need DJ to remain unaffected by the recent coaching change in Arizona to have a shot at winning this one.

I will not say a single negative thing about the Nutts this week.  How could I when they are such an amazingly put together team?  Goff vs. Rodgers?  Pssh, just retire old man it's the era of the young QBs!  And Nelson sitting alone as WR1 of Oakland now?  What more could you ask for than all those Amari targets?  The Nutts don't even need an active kicker to win this week, easy money.

The bEARs used up all their luck in Reno, and sit dead last in Newizona.  Doctor B had a great start to the season, but a rocky road since has left them in the middle of the standings, struggling to hold onto a wildcard spot.  This week won't be any different for the team, as their opponent is the beneficiary of last week's Hyde trade.  Chubb wasn't supposed to take over that backfield until next season, but the NFL is a fickle thing.

The Runners are projected 8pt favorites over the defending champs, but they'll need ARob to get over whatever held him back last week to reach that score.  The Munnies welcome Adams back from his bye and look forward to continuing their winning streak and maintaining their position at 2nd in the division.

Sorry for the late posting this week, getting back from vacation on Monday threw off my routine.  But that just means you get to read in time to hype up for TNF!  Yay Miami/Houston!  Or something...
